[August 28th, 2023 - NASHVILLE, TN] - Downtown Music’s Artist & Label Services division has announced a key hire in the Nashville area as the company’s presence in the territory continues to grow.  Jeanette Porcello has joined Downtown Artist & Label Services with the remit of signing artists and labels and leading Downtown’s business development efforts in Nashville.  Porcello’s hiring marks the first senior hire Downtown’s Artist & Label Services division has made on the ground in Nashville as the company furthers its level of establishment and develops its roster in the vibrant city.

Sharing on her hiring, Porcello says, "I’m beyond excited to join the Downtown Artist & Label Services team. It’s abundantly clear that this company values artists and walks the walk on its mission to build an equitable music ecosystem. I’m looking forward to amplifying more Nashville talent and helping shape the next chapter of music innovation and success."

Jeanette will report to Bryan Mooney, Global Vice President of A&R. Mooney shares, “Jeanette’s deep relationships within and beyond Nashville coupled with her passion for developing independent artists make her an incredible addition to our team. I’m excited to work with Jeanette to build out our roster of artists and labels in Nashville.”

Porcello boasts a robust tenure in music, beginning her career in A&R at Atlantic Records.  In 2020 she secured her first major signing Sara Kays, whose single “Remember That Night” went on to be RIAA Platinum certified. In her role as an A&R Manager, Porcello collaborated extensively with a diverse roster of artists, nurturing their creative journeys.

Porcello also serves on the leadership team for The Other Nashville Society, a community group of music industry professionals and artists. Her engagement in the Nashville territory and Country music space expands beyond just her work in A&R, where she will bring her aptitude for leadership and wealth of knowledge about the music community to her role at Downtown Artist & Label Services.

The regional hiring was a strategic move by Downtown given the division’s recent activity in the market including the rollout of projects like the Cheat Codes country crossover album One Night In Nashville, Red Sky with Hunter Hayes, Fancy Hagood’s Trailblazers Apple Radio show, and Colbie Caillat’s forthcoming album Along The Way.  Downtown’s executives also made an impact at Nashville’s Music Biz conference this year, seeing Bryan Mooney speak on an official conference panel developed by Downtown redefining hit songs within the modern music market.

As Downtown’s Artist & Label Services division continues to expand its presence across major markets both in the United States and abroad, it consistently delivers on its promise of white-glove distribution and marketing solutions for independent artists and labels. Jeanette Porcello is only the latest addition to the prominent music services company’s global workforce as Downtown continues to identify new and innovative opportunities in the rapidly evolving music industry landscape.
